Job Summary
• This role is responsible for overseeing a team of individual contributors to manage strategic procurement projects and programs, and holding accountability for the performance and results of significant categories, supply chains, or programs. The role leads the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and apply industry expertise to address common and complex business issues. The role collaborates with senior stakeholders to align supply chain development with business tactics and strategy, negotiate contracts, and actively seek opportunities for process improvement.
Responsibilities
• Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors to manage and lead strategic procurement related projects for a moderately complex category or business unit.
• Holds accountability for results of a major category, supply chain, product line or program in terms of strategy and cost savings, and ensures that performance meets global and regional planning requirements.
• Leads the development, implementation, and alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities for spend categories to achieve broad business objectives.
• Applies industry and subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established frameworks.
• Plans, directs, and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of staff with a primary focus on high-category department, supply chain, and/or complex product lines, which involves identifying and resolving strategic issues.
• Liaises with senior business executives to discuss impact of supply chain strategic development, and contributes to changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility.
• Negotiates and implements supply deals and contracts, partners with suppliers on strategic development opportunities, and works with suppliers to drive improvement on all areas measured within the supplier scorecard.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and policy development and engages in their design and implementation.
• Manages the demand and supply matching activities, connecting strategy to execution and identifying issues and their impact.
• Holds responsibility for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development, while ensuring that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
