Electrical Design Engineer

This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment.

We engineer and manufacture a full range of power and signal distribution systems, including the high-speed data and high-power electrical systems needed to build feature-rich, highly automated, electric vehicles.

Position Summary

As an Electrical Design Engineer in the software automotive industry, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components for next-generation automotive software applications. Your primary focus will be on creating innovative solutions that integrate seamlessly with vehicle software platforms, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability.

Your Role

• Develop Electrical Center Design with integrated electronics.
• Design for new business pursuit opportunities.
• Work with Automotive OEMs to develop and interpret customer requirements.
• Familiarity with Automotive Functional Safety Requirements and the ISO 26262 specification.
• Create and present technical presentations to sell and explain new electrical center designs.
• Create schematics, bill of materials, and support PCB layouts using Mentor DxDesigner, Hyperlynx and Expedition.
• Support product validation and testing.
• Support the cross functional team including software, systems engineering, purchasing, PCB layout, documentation.

Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Skype, Visio, Teams, etc.).
• Complete understanding of at least one CAD design tool (AutoCad, Solidworks...).
• C++ or Phyton programmer skills.

Your Background

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Fluent English.
• +5 years of experience in a similar position or related.
• Experience working in the automotive industry.
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
• Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team.
• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently.
• Familiar with basic electrical/Electronic design.
• Be able to understand electrical drawings (schematics).
• GD&T interpretation.
• Ability and Problem Solving Skills.
