JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

Position is responsible for supervising and conducting operations in the areas of Controls and Gage calibration functions in the plant to maximize production while adhering to standard safe practices and procedures, environmental and legislative requirements. This position is involved in organizing, planning and conducting regular maintenance/calibration work on all Test / Gage equipment and systems within the plant. Oversee and conducting preventive maintenance procedures, evaluating, and maximizing maintenance procedures in collaboration with other support personnel and staff. Also responsible of overseeing the activities of Controls Engineers personnel so that they follow the company’s regulations concerning safety procedures thus minimizing personal injury risks, environmental and company asset damage. Should be able to develop personnel work schedule, work force size and changes in staff composition. Should be able to handle emergencies and adjust work schedules as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees and conduct maintenance programs and scheduling such as TPM, safety.
  • Develops maintenance training programs for all personnel in their areas.
  • Manages resources and working hours of all maintenance personnel.
  • Directs and analyzes the work order planning and provide necessary support per work area requirements and procedures.
  • Communicates with members of the production teams and provide support as required.
  • Adhere to safe working practices and follow all safety procedures and programs (SAM) as well as PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
  • Manages and conduct the calibration system for all Testing equipment.
  • Participates during equipment and cell transfers as well as during product launches.
  • Supports the development and integration of new production Systems.
  • Actively participate in KPS events.
  • Supports the acquisition of new technology for plant development.
  • Develops personnel in technical and working practices.
  • Coordinate external calibration services.
  • Generate shopping cars for the department.
  • Knows and communicates the need for product safety.
  • As well performs all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.
  • Adhere to the Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Take responsibility for those aspects of the system over which they have control.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:

Controls Engineer Team Lead reports to the plant Quality manager.

Controls Engineer Team Lead is responsible to lead Controls Engineers,

Maybe be responsible to direct, temporal employees, etc.

Knowledge:

Posses the ability to supervise skilled workers and wide experience in plant operations.

Have excellent troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge of production equipment, mechanical and electrical equipment, computer operations, and ability to motivate maintenance personal under pressure.

Be able to coordinate several projects simultaneously, and should be able to generate ideas that can lead to reduction of cost and improvement of work processes.

Should have excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Experience:

Skills:

Knowledge and use of complex Tools, electric control Systems, mechanical, and mechatronics, as well as lean manufacturing and Six sigma Tools.

Must have strong programming, electronics, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic background

Posses' exceptional technical skills (electronic, electrical and mechanical), PLC programming and installation, pressure transducers, strain gages, wiring, design and build, and standard electronic test equipment.

BS Degree in Electromechanical engineering or mechatronics

Six Sigma Greenbelt a plus.
