Materials Supervisor / SVSBDP Filtration (Services / Beneficiation and Dewatering Products – Filtration)


  • Job Statement:


The Materials supervisor is responsible for ensuring that raw materials are in the right place, at the right time and in the most cost-effective manner. Covering all facets of material movement, from planning and forecasting to its shipment and reception at Metso filter plant, accurately forecasting material needs and planning processes for compliance and timely delivery of the final product to the customer.


  • Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop forecasts by determining customer needs and analyzing historical data such as material usage, depletion and sales, using different tools (i.e., SAP planning tables, Gantt chart, and MS Office tools).
  • Coordinate and organize special meetings with suppliers and required areas when necessary to handle urgent cases, breakdown requests, etc.
  • Manage, monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials and consumables, analyzing sales trends, production capacity and lead times.
  • Supervises, motive and coach unionized work personnel, ensuring that they comply with the company's internal work regulations, procedures and policies to have the necessary records to carry out an evaluation of their behavior and performance.
  • Comply with all the company policies and procedures and secure that all personnel under his/her supervision also comply with this requirement.
  • Use SAP tool to validate raw materials and WIP inventories (physical vs virtual).
  • Knowledge of MIGO transaction to enter invoices, raw materials and consumables in the warehouse.
  • Support in the development and implementation of production plans, schedules, and capacity requirements to ensure on-time delivery of finished product.
  • Have a complete overview and communication from the materials area to request and use materials inventory information for requirement planning and identify critical part numbers to provide effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, planning, and suppliers to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Tracking and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time receipt of raw materials, inventory turnover and inventory value.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization in materials planning and inventory control. Apply best practices, lean methodologies and automation tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and supply agreements, and constantly follow up to ensure that delivery deadlines are met.
  • Responsible for managing and controlling the inventory of raw materials, ensuring that it is maintained at optimum levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure the quality of raw materials received. This involves performing quality inspections and tests, and taking corrective action if defective or non-conforming products are detected.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and inventory movements, as well as generate reports and analysis to evaluate supply chain performance and efficiency.
  • Run proper reports to analyze the material planning schedule, strategic planning lead times, inventory level, data base maintenance and constant update of procedures of the latest management system.
  • Review in a monthly basis the breakdowns for maintenance, training etc., to don’t affect the productivity and the targets.
  • Coordinate and supervise receiving procedures as well as the distribution of raw materials and supplies in the organization.

  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • Engineering bachelor's degree (Industrial, Logistics or related)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in material planning and manufacturing.
  • Experience working with machining and presses equipment.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing processes, tooling inventory and product design specifications.
  • Have knowledge of SAP in the PMM module is an advantage.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Intermediate knowledge of the written and verbal English language.
  • A good level of computer skills in essential – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SAP and others.
  • Experience in supervising unionized personnel.
  • Understanding the relationship with suppliers.
  • Must be open minded and ready to share experience and knowledge with others.
  • Experience understands technical drawings.
  • Position requires support expertise in good suppliers relation skills, ability to work within a team environment, creativity, innovation, and ability to understand the business.
  • Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks, and working in a fast-paced environment.
