About The Role

Provides legal support to Carrier LATAM Legal Department in areas such as Carrier Policies Compliance (Vendors, Sponsors, etc.), Corporate Governance and Government Filings as well as Regulatory Matters and provide, when needed, Legal analysis on specific projects and consults related to the day-to-day operation. Function will also administer Legal Archive and lead specific projects to improve Legal LATAM standardization. Represents the organization to customers, suppliers, competitors and government agencies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Established and productive legal professional contributor. Responsible for the development of functional legal strategies for the LATAM Legal Department. Communicates with parties within and outside of own team to explain policies and procedures such as corporate governance, compliance, regulatory, environmental, real estate, corporate, intellectual property, contracts and licensing law.
  • Works to achieve day-to-day objectives to ensure that business decisions reflect current legal requirements, trends and interpretations.
  • Provides legal advice to individuals and business units concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations to ensure that corporate interests are well-represented.
  • Will be responsible for ensuring Legal Carrier Policy Compliance (support the Business in complying with the Vendor/Customer policies and legal requirements)
  • Corporate Governance and Government Filings. Lawyer will be responsible for the Update of Corporate Government documents as well as the necessary filings. Will provide legal support to the businesses for the several government filings each BU requires.
  • Manages NDA´s as well as certain Service Agreement with Suppliers, as well as Legal Archive (both physical and Digital).
  • Will be responsible for LATAM wide implementations (implementing Doc Solutions, standardizing documents and legal processes across the different BU´s.
  • Help with administrative tasks such as updating Team Connect and processing payments through Ariba
  • Provide, when needed, Legal analysis on specific projects and consults related to the day-to-day operation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Advanced English (Conversational).
  • Communication with parties inside and outside one's own team to explain facts and policies related to the work area, such as business transactions, liability claims, the appropriateness of bringing or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations to protect reputation and interests client's commercials. .
  • Support in the development of functional legal strategies to provide people and business units with updated legal advice.
  • Achieve daily objectives to ensure the organization's interests are protected.
  • Works to operationally influence parties inside and outside the work area.
