THE ROLE

We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Senior Specialist to manage and optimize the inbound logistics of raw and packing materials, ensuring the timely and cost-efficient delivery to the plant. This role will support the continuous improvement initiatives in the logistics supply chain and will contribute to optimizing resources across national and international freight operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Efficient Import Processes: Manage and monitor agile import processes, ensuring minimal delivery time and cost.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate in verifying compliance with local and international regulations, such as customs, safety, and quality standards for all imports.
  • Supplier Relationships: Assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with international suppliers, helping assess their performance and support cost/quality improvement.
  • Import and Consolidation Strategies: Support the optimization of import strategies balancing costs, inventory, and lead-time.
  • Process Automation Support: Contribute to simplifying and automating the import process to improve operational efficiency.
  • Cost Monitoring: Track and monitor costs associated with imports, including freight, tariffs, and related expenses.
  • Risk Management Support: Identify and assist in the analysis of potential risks related to raw material imports, and support the creation of contingency plans.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with internal departments, suppliers, and customs agents to ensure smooth operations.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare performance reports and analyze data, focusing on costs and delivery time metrics.
  • Budget Adherence: Ensure adherence to the import budget while helping identify cost efficiencies and areas for resource optimization.
  • Cost-Saving Projects: Assist and contribute to the execution of cost-saving initiatives to improve tariff rates, implement preferential tariffs, and increase import efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Education: Degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on imports.
  • Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with import regulations, customs processes, trade agreements, and freight management.
  • Interpret customs brokerage expense accounts and freight & forwarders supplier invoices
  • Strong understanding of international trade terms (INCOTERMS) and their relevance to import contracts.
  • Proficient understanding of Statistics, Demand Concepts, and Data Analytics.
  • Intermediate-level skills in Excel and SAP.
  • Fluent in speaking and written English, C1 or C2 preferred

KEY SKILLS:

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data and solve logistical challenges in the import process.
  • Proactive and Results-Oriented: Strong focus on identifying and acting on cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to support logistics goals.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and concisely with all relevant parties.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to and support process improvement projects in logistics.

Desirable:

  • Experience with international trade agreements, tariffs, and import/export compliance.
  • Knowledge of cost optimization techniques and freight management.
  • Understanding of sustainable sourcing and logistics practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders (suppliers, customs agencies).
