Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading all Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering activities within Motus, evaluating and adopting new manufacturing and automation technologies and methodologies.
  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, cost, and profitability of products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Safety, Design Engineering, Launches, Advanced Engineering, Production, and Quality, to develop and implement new products and processes.
  • Lead the reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements.
  • Lead and manage the acquisition of equipment and facilities related to the launch of new products and other business initiatives. This will include design reviews with the supplier, collaboration with the supplier to understand and manage their schedule, monitoring and controlling the budget, approval and commissioning of equipment, and relevant deliverables from the manufacturing center, such as spare parts, operator instructions, and PMs, etc.
  • Manage and monitor the implementation of technologies, quotes, and automation systems to improve manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
  • Focus on process optimization.
  • Manage the planning, execution, and completion of new launches.
  • Work closely with the advanced engineering departments, program management, and product engineering to ensure quality and meet contracted volumes.
  • Oversee the following departments activities: Launch management, advanced manufacturing including packaging engineering, advanced IM tooling, advanced controls engineering, pattern and wrapping development
  • Manage the handoff and integration of new launches to plant production & operations team.
  • Manage the team to competitively and profitably quote all Phase 1 new business manufacturing, tooling, and packaging.
  • Manage pattern and wrapping department to finalize best designs, minimize pattern changes, and standardize wrapping process.
  • Lead launch managers to support all new launches with customer-facing support. This will include pre-production builds, internal process signoff, power builds, and running at rate activity to support PPAP.
  • Follow and mentor team to apply the Motus Product Development Process, RASIC, glidepath and other IATF requirements throughout launch.
  • Evaluate Motus technology and advise on advancements to drive profits and competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience related to manufacturing
  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Automotive industry background
  • Demonstrated experience in lean strategies
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
