QHSE Intern

Essential Functions

• Comply with the policies and procedures established by the QHSE area.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of technical and administrative information.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement (quality) in the organization.
• Timely notify any incident, act or unsafe condition to the immediate responsible.
• Contribute with proposals to improve the working conditions and environmental processes.
• Support administrative and operational tasks related to improvement projects or regulatory compliance.
• Interacts with suppliers, to ensure that their products meet the company's needs.
• Oversight of the entire production cycle monitoring quality failures, safety and environmental risks.
  
  
  

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Support in the implementation and monitoring of safety, occupational health and environmental programs.
• Participate in safety inspections and routine plant/office tours.
• Collaborate in the development and updating of risk matrices and environmental aspects.
• Support in the investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe acts.
• Provide support in internal and external audits (preparation of evidence, accompaniment, follow-up of findings).
• Manage the physical and digital archive of QHSE management system documentation (procedures, instructions, forms, permits, etc.).
• Provide support in internal training: logistics, assistance, document control and follow-up.
• Participate in awareness campaigns and preventive culture activities.
• Support in the follow-up of the internal calibration and verification plan.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits. Other duties
• Generate HIRAC (risk analysis).
• Generate Risk Observations.
• Generate Safety Conversations.
• Generate 5 minutes safety talks.
• Participate in the different brigades to which you are called.
  
  
  

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position doesn’t have direct supervisory responsibilities.
• Employees are expected to align with Metso's leadership principles.
• This position reports directly to the QHSE Specialist.
  
  
  

Travel

Not required for this position.

Qualifications

Education: University degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Health and Safety or related areas. (Recently graduate)

Experience: 6 months.

Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards (desirable).

English language skills (basic)

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Good observation, analysis and communication skills; proactive attitude, organized, willing to learn and collaborate.
