Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineering Expert with a strong emphasis on establishing and optimizing labor standards within welding processes, particularly in automation environments. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in industrial engineering and welding automation to develop, analyze, and implement labor standards that enhance productivity, ensure quality, and drive operational efficiency.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, IE for JD Dubuque Works in Dubuque, IA, you will:

  • Establish and maintain labor standards for welding processes, focusing on time studies, work measurement, and best practices.
  • Analyze current labor efficiency metrics and recommend improvements tailored to specific welding operations and automation applications.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of welding processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with welding teams to refine processes, applying lean principles to minimize waste and optimize workflow.
  • Work closely with automation engineers to develop work standards for automated systems.
  • Develop labor standard methodologies that account for automated processes, ensuring that human labor and automation work in tandem effectively.
  • Design and implement manufacturing processes that enhance productivity and quality in welding operations.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate tools, equipment, and technologies to support efficient manufacturing practices.
  • Work with the production teams on newly established labor standards and optimized processes.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure labor standards are effectively integrated into daily operations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to propose enhancements to labor standards and welding processes.
  • Ensure that all labor standards and processes comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits of labor practices and standards to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.

What Skills You Need

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on labor standards, time studies, and welding processes.
  • 3 Years of proven experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • 3 years of experience in welding techniques, processes, and equipment
  • 3 years of experience in labor measurement techniques, including time studies and work sampling methods.

Education
