Position Summary
The IT/TELCO buyeris a specialist that p erforms key commercial aspects of Indirect purchasing such as: identify core function or business unit specifications, market research, supplier selection, price negotiation, and global coordination. Will lead efforts with regional and global Indirect purchasing members as well as establish the development of the assigned category strategies.
This position requires to work with over 90 plants all over Mexico, Nicaragua, el Salvador and USA members, central HR, BU and Finance team to identify the best of the best suppliers: service, quality cost and delivery for Yazaki. The ultimate purpose for this position is to improve cost and stability in all YNCA region including WH & ECI manufacturing operations

Bachelor’s Degree or relevant degree preferred or equivalent work experience

Previous Experience
1+ years’ experience in Purchasing especially Indirect
Travel Requirements
40% Local, Regional, National, and International
Language
English required; Spanish preferred
Software
SAP, Coupa, Microsoft Office Suite (word, power point, excel)

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide expertise to identify opportunities areas for cost reduction, quality, and delivery time.
- Researching, selecting, and purchasing competitive IT/TELCO products.
- Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities and delivery timescales
- Lead improvement activities and workshops
- Communicate globally (Spanish/English): verbal, written and in person (present)
- Work independently
- Processing requisitions and updating management on the status of orders
- Support the identification new supplier, services, and integration.
- Serves as first point of contact and liaison to the supply base
- Processes Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) as well as maintaining service pricing and contracts
- Ensures compliance with all documentation (including NDA, supplier contracts, pricing sheets, etc.)
- Ensures data integrity and compliance with Purchasing cost reduction road map
- Follows the New Supplier Form (NSF) set up process to ensure that all new suppliers are set up timely and accurately
- Supports/Achieves Global cost improvement initiatives by developing sourcing strategies that are presented in Pre-Sourcing meetings.
- Continuous improvement activities by identifying changes and enhancements to systems or processes.
