OverviewManage the supply chain activities, overseeing, planning, warehousing, order fulfillment, and logistics for Rain Bird's mechanical-based irrigation products.
Responsible for the management and continuous improvement of warehouse operations and material handling in two facilities and an overseas shipping operation.
This position works closely with operations, quality, engineering, manufacturing, and safety groups.
ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a strong and efficient materials organization that coordinates effectively with other departments while continuing to improve its methodologies and resultsDevelop and implement plans needed to achieve corporate and division strategic goals, including cost-competitiveness, improved quality, supply chain flexibility and reliability delivery systems, reduced lead-time, higher inventory turns, and successful launch of cost-competitive new products.Serve as a catalyst and a key contributor to corporate-wide supply chain improvement activities.Involved as a key member of the division's management team.
Collaborate with other managers and departments in improving the overall business performance.Ensure that workplace's health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of materials.Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, receiving processes, and shipping.Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, stock takes and audit of same to verify results, root cause identification and implement effective corrective actions for material variances, accuracy of shipments to the distribution centers.Setup layout & space management, procedures such as Safety, 5S.
Organize all activities & assign jobs accordingly for staff, maintain housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area.Implement cost reduction initiatives in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activities.Coordinate freight movements between the Tijuana facilities to minimize freight costs and ensure an optimized supply chain is established.Maintain and continually improve the quality management system in the areas assigned with a "risk management" approach.Ensure compliance to company procedures and policies.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least 10 years' experience in Planning, Materials Management, inventory control, logistics and high-volume high mix manufacturing environment.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business-related field.A proven track record of delivery performance, inventory turns improvement, and implementation of modern planning approaches.Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or other similar ERP systemsExcellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills, particularly with respect to a manufacturing environmentFluency in the English languageSome prior experience and appreciation of multi-cultural working environmentsExpertise managing high exposure projects.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate degree in business or a technical disciplineExperience in the electronics industry (sourcing and/or manufacturing)APICS certificationLos datos personales y sensibles recabados por Ensambles Hyson, S.A. de C.V. serán utilizados para cumplimiento del negocio y será compartido bajo los términos requeridos por ley.
