As a Patter Design Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all activities related to the launch of new products and programs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that launch milestones are met on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. testing of new products, as well as Engineering changes and/or improvements to current products, which will allow meeting the Quality standards established by the Company for each of the final products. The company is always in constant change and improvement, so it requires staff to support this need without being directly involved in the production line or day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the feasibility of improving an existing process and/or product in the Plant, through pattern changes, improved handling of parts, and/or functionality of existing tools.
  • Develop and design work methods to optimize production processes and minimize scrap costs.
  • Implementation of new manufacturing methods, such as fixtures and/or poka yokes, to facilitate the work of the operating personnel.
  • Ensure compliance and monitoring of all Engineering tests related to existing products.
  • Ensure compliance and monitoring of all Engineering tests related to the launch of a new product.
  • Instruct and train assembly crews for new product lines during the ramp-up of the launch.
  • Ensure lectra programing to develop or improve a product in the cutting process.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes that help generate cost-saving initiatives to reduce some of the 7 wastes and have a positive impact on some of the plant's indicators.
  • Perform their duties with the highest quality, promoting productivity and continuous improvement, to ensure sustainability and development of the business.
  • Show total intolerance to unsafe acts and conditions, committed to complying with policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and environmental care.

Requirements

  • Pattern design, garment sewing, and manual and/or mechanical wrapping of components
  • Plastic / Foam injection
  • Knowledge of Lectra system.
  • MS Office
  • AutoCAD 2D
  • Accumark / Accunest
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in (door and console armrests, instrument panel trim components,)
  • Knowledge of the automotive interior products industry
