Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Program Manager's function is to plan, organize and lead programs and the series of projects it entails to successful completion as required by company defined key initiatives. It is also expected for this function to participate in strategic planning for the programs this position may be leading.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages long term goals and translates them into shorter projects to achieve the program success.
  • Prepares justification for the programs he is managing, such as ROI, etc, to achieve buy in from top management.
  • Plan, organizes and leads high scope projects.
  • Leads and organizes project reviews affecting the Mexicali site.
  • Prepares status reports for the projects and programs he/she is leading and is able to present at an executive level.
  • Maintains budget control for projects and programs.
  • Assures that proper documentation is prepared and updated to meet standards and regulations as required in a Medical device environment (FDA/ISO).
  • Ability to influence others to perform needed tasks in order to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • May require coaching other engineers in project management tools.
  • Ability to lead cross functional, multisite and multicultural (both US and MX) teams.
  • Create budget estimates for projects and programs.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Travel: Position may require 10-30% travel depending on the project, primarily within U.S.

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Required:
  • Be of high character and energy with regard for detail.
  • Schedule oriented and demonstrate results based on such schedules (Plans / Gantt charts)
  • Highly organized with his tasks and tasks related to his programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to communicate eloquently up, down, and sideways.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills to coordinate cross functional and/or multisite/multicultural teams for his/her program.
  • Demonstrate site bring up and site transfer knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrate equipment and process validation knowledge.
  • Prior experience working in an FDA/ISO regulated environment.
  • BS degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years in a Project/Program Manager role or an engineering leading role.
  • Minimum 6 years mechanical, manufacturing or process engineering experience with Mid/high volume complex mechanism manufacturing.
  • Possess strong communication skills to interact with suppliers and other departments within the company (product development, planning, purchasing, regulatory, quality, etc...)
  • Preferred:
  • MS in an engineering or administration discipline.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Prior responsibility for process, equipment or product validation/verification.
  • Prior experience with automated equipment, complex mechanism manufacturing, or robotics.
  • Experience in Just-In-Time, Demand Flow Technology, and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Language requirements:
  • High English Level (+ 90 %).
