Job Title: Automotive Supplier Scheduler

Job Summary:

The Supplier Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of materials from suppliers to manufacturing operations. This role ensures timely delivery of components, maintains optimal inventory levels, and supports production schedules to meet customer demands. The Scheduler acts as a liaison between suppliers, purchasing, and production teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain supplier schedules based on production requirements and forecasts.
  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm material availability and resolve delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, logistics, and production teams to manage inventory levels and avoid shortages or overages.
  • Analyze material requirements planning (MRP) data and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and supplier responsiveness.
  • Manage expedited orders and coordinate alternative sourcing when necessary.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in scheduling, planning, or supply chain roles within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., MAPICS, SAP, Oracle, Plex).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) principles is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems.

Familiarity with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
