Job Description: Foreign Trade / Imports Specialist
Manage imports from different parts of the world by scheduling pickups, handling the customs clearance process across various transportation modes used in commerce, ensuring legal compliance with Foreign Trade Laws, and ensuring timely delivery of imported goods to different branches or plants.
Main Responsibilities
Receive, validate, and send documents required by law to manage an import process.
Generate the necessary documentation to meet customs requirements, import permits, or NOM compliance.
Schedule customs-cleared materials for crossing (administrative and operational parts); request transportation units and follow up until final delivery.
Review and validate documents issued by the customs broker based on the preliminary report of the material arrived at Customs.
Coordinate delivery of materials to Lincoln branches/plants or other designated destinations.
Send notifications and documents about incoming materials; create customs entries (pedimentos) for receiving and recording imported goods.
Create and maintain records/files as required by law for each import process.
Manage timely payments to vendors.
Generate quotes and schedule pickups.
Provide information about materials as requested by internal customers.
Provide required documentation for audits (SAT, ISO, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.).
Administer and control the IMMEX Program (Temporary Import and Return).
Manage Virtual Operations in compliance with applicable laws.
Support the achievement of health-safety, quality, and environmental objectives.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Relations, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience
At least 3 years in a similar position.
Experience with automatic notifications through VUCEM.
Technical Knowledge
SAP experience preferred but not required.
IMMEX program management (mandatory).
Basic use of the VUCEM government platform.
Advanced English required.
Interpersonal Skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proactivity and decision-making ability.
Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
