Role Summary:

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving technical innovation through consumer insights and pipeline technology. Reporting to the [Insert Manager Title], you will lead a research team to develop new technical leads in partnership with Fragrance Technology and External Innovation. You will be the pivotal interface between business partners like Legal and Supply Chain, ensuring a continuous flow of patents and research reports that protect our intellectual property and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Project Delivery: Lead the development and execution of experimental plans to deliver innovative product bundles, ensuring all technical leads are successfully transferred to Implementation & Support teams.

• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and coach an assigned technical team, fostering safe behaviors, quality commitment, and professional growth through active feedback and training.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary technical interface with Quality, Regulatory, and Legal to ensure products meet global registration standards and proprietary rights are protected.

• Innovation & IP Management: Drive the creation of invention records and patents by monitoring competitive activity and translating consumer trends into protected pipeline technology.

• Compliance & Quality Oversight: Ensure all personnel comply with EOHS actions and Quality systems, maintaining accurate documentation (SOPs, claims dossiers) to support global audits.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Science, or Biotechnology

• Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.).

• 7+ years of experience in the Consumer Goods industry with a focus on R&D, Product Development, Quality.

• 3+ years of direct people management and project management experience.

• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Fluent oral/written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical expertise in rheology, surfactant/emulsion chemistry, and consumer research methods.

• A proven track record of academic publications or previous patent applications.
