Supplier Quality Engineer

Supplier Quality Engineer Chihuahua $50,000 - $60,000/month (MXN) The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that all components and materials sourced from external suppliers meet Midtronics quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves supplier qualification, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the integrity of the supply chain and support production goals KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to align supplier capabilities with product requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers on quality tools and processes.
• Train suppliers on quality system requirements and company-specific standards.
• Support supplier development initiatives to enhance process capability and reduce variability.
• Evaluate and assist in supplier selection based on capability.
• Conduct on-site and remote audits to verify adherence to Midtronics quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work with engineering and supply chain to develop and implement supplier quality plans.
• Partner with suppliers, operations, and purchasing to monitor and improve supplier performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier-related quality issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers to implement preventive measures and continuous improvement programs.
• Maintain supplier quality documentation, inspection reports, and certification records.
• Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, RoHS, REACH, and other applicable regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within an electronics assembly or manufacturing environment. PCBA experience is a must.
• Experience with supplier management – onboarding and performance management.
• Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (FMEA, PPAP, CAPA/8D).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, UL, IPC and other similar standards.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations, some international.
• Ability to communicate in English, written and oral.
