The Network Operation Engineer plans and implements enterprise networks and related hardware and software. Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps. Establishes security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters. Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure. Implements communications technologies (data or voice). Manages network services from planning phase through implementation. This ideal person has solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and SW, security and network infrastructure is required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

· Design and document network architecture related within environments such as IT infrastructure, networking, SDWAN networks, VPNs, and Cisco networks.

· Test and tune security devices and systems while documenting architecture of networks within routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), route leaking, route redistribution, route-maps environments and programming routers and switches.

· Execute end-to-end plans including designs and/or upgrades for enterprise-wide LANs/WANs while clearly and effectively communicating with cross-functional teams.

· Coordinate any modifications to the network environment with other IT departments and change management and develop Concepts of Operation, Requirements, Basis of Design, and critical design documents and drawings.

· Establish security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters and support project tracking by maintaining relevant log on boarding metrics and other relevant criteria while serving as a key team member for incident response related activities and collaborates with technical teams for security incident remediation and communication.

· Document weekly operations activities, network traffic and any detected bugs or vulnerabilities while identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues in detailed reports.

Education & Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree is required

· 4+ years’ years relevant work experience with network engineering and datacenter operations

· Bilingual in English & Spanish (verbal, written) is required

· Experience designing and operating networks incorporating BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, DMVPN, SDWAN, VRFs, route redistribution/filtering and traffic engineering.

· Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, switch stacking technologies, spanning tree (R-PVST / PVST protocols), MLAG, MEC, vPC, peer links.

· Experience with network management applications and related protocols such as SNMPv3, NetFlow, SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetScout, Cisco Prime and DNA-C.

· Experience with Cisco wireless networking technologies including wireless LAN controllers, access points and the 802.11 protocol suite.

· Understanding of, and experience with Information Security concepts for core network infrastructure and data transport including IPsec, MACSec, GRE Tunnels, Access Control Lists, 802.1x MAB (MAC Authentication Bypass) NAC, Cisco ISE, TACACS+ and RADIUS


Desire Requirements (Not Mandatory):

· Valid Cisco certifications including, CCNP, CCDA and CCDP are highly desirable
