Position Summary
Parker Hannifin is seeking to fill (2) Technical Sales Representative / Territory Manager – Automotive Market vacancies to drive profitable growth across the northern and central regions of the country. These roles are responsible for developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering Parker-Hannifin motion and control solutions to customers in the automotive market.
The positions combine technical application knowledge, consultative selling, territory management, and customer support to promote Parker-Hannifin’s portfolio of hydraulic, electromechanical, and motion control technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with business unit objectives and growth targets for the northern and central regions of the country.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities within the automotive market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, Tier suppliers, distributors, integrators, and key decision-makers.
- Promote Parker-Hannifin motion and control products, systems, and solutions.
- Provide technical sales support by understanding customer applications, requirements, and performance expectations.
- Recommend appropriate Parker-Hannifin solutions based on customer needs, operating conditions, and application requirements.
- Manage the sales process, including prospecting, opportunity development, quotations, follow-up, negotiation, and closing.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, customer records, and activity reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, customer service, product management, operations, and distribution partners to support customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer projects, and industry developments within the automotive segment across the assigned northern and central territories.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, electromechanical systems, and motion control technologies.
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, operating parameters, and customer application requirements.
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing environments, systems integration, and equipment performance needs.
- Experience in technical sales, territory management, application engineering, business development, or customer-facing engineering roles.
- Experience serving customers in the Automotive Market is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with OEMs, Tier suppliers, distributors, or manufacturing customers is desirable.
- Proven ability to manage sales opportunities, develop customer relationships, and achieve commercial objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, and priorities in a dynamic business environment.
- Strong customer focus, consultative selling skills, business acumen, and disciplined territory management.
- Effective communication, presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Results-oriented mindset with accountability for sales performance.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
- Professional conduct aligned with Parker-Hannifin values and standards.
